When selecting Behavior Charts to use with your students, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, make sure that the design is one that your student will enjoy or consider fun. Second, choose a Behavior Chart that requires a number of repetitions before the prize can be earned. A good rule of thumb is to start with Behavior Charts that require fewer repetitions in the beginning, and then work up to the those that require higher numbers of repetitions before the chart is filled.
The printable Behavior Charts below are fun and easy to use. After you find the Behavior Chart you think is a match for your student fill in the blank with the desired behavior. Talk with your student about the type of reward/incentive that would be exciting for your student to work toward. For more information about selecting appropriate rewards and incentives, click here. Then, each time you catch your student performing the new desired behavior, tell them to mark their chart. When the chart is complete, celebrate your student’s hard work and give the reward/incentive they’ve earned.
Watch for new opportunities to celebrate your students’ successes! Give them new goals to aspire, to and watch for students that are doing things above and beyond what’s expected. Look for students who are making progress, even if there’s still a lot of room for improvement. Remember that baby steps are cause for celebration, too! Aim to keep things fresh, adjusting goals, using new incentives, and selecting different Behavior Charts from our creative selection.
